Sometimes Microsoft Dynamics GP reports unusual errors with temporary tables. Here are some example error messages that you might see: An open operation on table 'IVReconcilePOTEMP' has an incorrect record length. An open operation on table 'PMInquirySummaryTEMP' failed because the path does not exist.
While these errors can seem confusing and not make any sense at first, there is one important fact that will help explain how the error can be generated. Not all temporary tables used by Microsoft Dynamics GP are SQL tables created in the tempdb system database. Many temporary tables used for quick processing in windows use local ctree temporary tables. These ctree temporary tables are implemented as ctree files in the local workstation's temp folder as pointed to by the%TEMP% environment variable.
The files will be named TNTXXXX and will have the extensions.dat,.idx and.tmp. These files are created when the related table buffers are first referenced in the code and are usually deleted when the table buffer is no longer being used. However, sometimes the files are left behind in the temp folder. The errors can occur when. the temporary folder as specified in the%TEMP% environment variable does not exist. the temporary folder as specified in the%TEMP% environment variable does not have write permissions.
the drive that contains the temporary folder as specified in the%TEMP% environment variable is full. the temporary filename selected by the runtime engine matches one or more existing files with the same extensions (.dat,.idx or.tmp). The solution to issues with these temporary tables is to cleanup the temporary folder. Please exit all applications on the workstation and delete as many of the contents of the folder as possible.
Some files will be in use and cannot be deleted. Note: the Dexterity system can also use ctree memory tables which will be stored with their actual names in a TNTXXXX folder. These tables remain available to the instance of the application until it is shut down. David 21-Apr-2010: Also look at Allan Cahill's post on this blog.
An error code is returned from each of the table operations that can be performed. The possible error codes are contained in the TableError enumeration. Many of the errors included in the enumeration will not occur in the released versions of Microsoft Dynamics GP. The following table describes the error values that your Visual Studio Tools integration is likely to encounter: Constant Description Changed The row being saved was changed by another user.
DatabasePermissionViolation The current user does not have security privileges to access the table. DoubleLock A row was already locked in the table buffer. Duplicate The row being saved already exists in the table. EndOfTable The row cannot be retrieved because the beginning or end of the table has been reached.
InvalidKeyNumber The table does not have a key with the number specified. NoError No error occurred. NoLock An operation such as was performed, but no row had been locked. NotFound The row was not found in the table. NotSupported The table operation is not supported for the table.
For example, attempting to actively lock a row on a table that doesn't allow it. Sharing The row is actively locked by another user. TooManyOpenTables Too many tables are open in the application.
Unknown An unknown error occurred. Typically, your code will do one or both of the following after each table operation:. Check for the NoError value, indicating the table operation was successful. If the operation was successful, the next processing step can continue.
Check for a specific error, such as NotFound. The code must respond appropriately, such as displaying a message for the user. If an unexpected error occurs after performing a table operation, it's always a good idea to display the details of the error to the user.
Include information such as the table, the operation being performed, and the error that occurred. Warning: When a table operation error occurs, your code won't follow the typical code path. Be sure that your code closes any tables it has accessed.
Otherwise, the user won't be able to exit Microsoft Dynamics GP.
Rich It sounds to me like your Dynamics.dic dictionary has not been properly synchronised with your account framework and additional sorts. You can change the Synchronize=FALSE to Synchronize=TRUE in the Dex.ini and run Great Plains Utilities to re-synchronised, or copy the Dynamics.dic from a workstation that works. If you still have problems, it is possible that the custom forms.dic and reports.dic don't have the correct synchronisation. Try renaming them to see that that helps.

I have a range of fields in a pivot table some are qty others are value how can i split the table into two seperate sections one showing qty and the other showing values (if that makes sense) If your quantities and values are in the same column, you'd need to use a 'helper column' that differetiates them (Qty vs Amt) Then you can include that field in the pivot table before tha field containing the quantities and amounts. Does that help?. Regards, Ron XL2002, WinXP 'max power' wrote: i have a range of fields in a pivot table some are qty other. Outlook just closes without any sort of a prompt or error.

I want users to be able to enter areas where clients live. The combobox needs to fill the Area column in the appropriate table. But I want the combobox to be filled with previous entries from the same column, with the provision that a new entry can be made. The project is expanding thats why I need this. Or do I need to make an extra table with areas that can be filled with a separate command, which is then used as a source for the com.

You only need to enable SSL on the Exchange virtual directory, sounds like you have it enabled on the Public directory as well, remove SSL from the Public virtual directory and see if that fixes it.

Hopefully you have a backup of your sysdata directory. First try to browse to that directory and see if possibly permissions changed for it. Sometimes an IT person will change folder permissions for a folder and all subfolders will be changed as well. Look at the permissions of this folder. Users need at least read write but full control works.
If you have a sysdata backup, try replacing the whole folder and see if you can login. If that works, then there are files in the sysdata that may be corrupted. Now to figure out how old your backup is. Also, you are safe to delete the.G32 files in that directory.
Those are your GL Index files and get rebuild every time you.well. Rebuild them. I have this set to rebuild every time a user logs into an FRx company. Post back and let us know the results. Am I usderstanding that nobody can get in at all?
Have you tried report launcher? Or is the report designer?
Also, I just found this. Do you think any of these situations exist? If so, fix them, but if you can't even get in, then maybe you can't tell.
You should ask if anyone changed anything in FRx from yesterday to today. A Column Header spans multiple columns and either the beginning column or the ending column header range is set to NP, or it is set to X0 and the values are zero for this column. The Ledger ID is not selected in the Column Layout. Non-sequential fiscal periods exist. For example, you may have 2002, 2004, and 2037 as calendar years. A chart of accounts has not been set up. Hello there, Ive seent his error multiple times, with varying resolutions.
We've had corrupt database files, sysdata issues, connection problems and config file issues. Firstly, are you still having the problem after the above suggestions have been made? If so, are you getting the error and then being thrown out of FRx so that you cannot access anything off the tool bar and such in the application? If so, then can you locate the FRX32.CFG file on the machine and make sure that the path specified for the sysdata directory is a valid path, or a network path the workstation or user has access to. If they have access, are the files in the sysdata read only by any chance? If you are able to navigate within FRx and access toolbars, can you check the sysdata location and make sure this is mapped correct. Try change it for the one user and re-map it.
Do you get the same error? Thank you for your response. Yes, all users are still having trouble, unfortunately. We are being thrown out of FRx as soon as we say ok to the error, even on the remote server, not just the user workstations. I checked the path listed in the FRX32.CFG file and it is valid and accessible, so I'm worried we may have a corruption issue as you mentioned.
I'm waiting to find out if we have a backup of the system files so we can continue to test. We've had that same error in the past, but we were able to get to FRx, just couldn't run a report because a file had become corrupted.
There were also permission issues that were changed for remote users in the past and they received that error when the drill down viewer tried to access the I/O folder. This is the first time we've had the error up front and nobody can even get into FRx.very frustrating! Thanks to everyone for your help, I will keep you posted! Essentially those files.G32, F32, and MDB files are Microsoft Access Databases (password protected) and are prone to corruption. If you are savvy, you can find tools on the internet to expose the password and get into those files to see what sort of tables they contain.
It's actually pretty interesting. I'm not sure you will ever figure out how it got corrupted. Some maintenence steps are to Compact FRx System Databases (FrxSys32.mdb) and Compact Current Spec Sets (.F32 files). From FRx under the file menu. This is like when you perform maintenence on an access database.
I guess access might store a bunch of your changes in some sort of log or temp database, and this clears that out. I remember this routine would shrink the size of my access databases back when I used access. You should do that every so often and make backups regularly. Because changes you made since the that copy that you restored from will not be reflected in FRx anymore.
